NanoMedicine Centre

Pioneering Nanomedicine for Advanced Therapeutic Delivery

CEVAC - Vaxadvance - Vaccine Innovation at Ghent University Hospital

Mission

The NanoMedicine Centre (NMC) offers expertise and infrastructure for the formulation and comprehensive characterization of biotherapeutics in nanoparticle-based systems ‘nanomedicines’.

It is our ambition to work at the forefront of nanomedicine research and to facilitate the transition of novel concepts from lab bench to first clinical testing.

About the NanoMedicine Centre

NMC is part of the Ghent Research Group on Nanomedicines at Ghent University, which has over 20 years of expertise in nanomedicine and nucleic acid delivery.

NMC is developing a validated toolbox of advanced assays for comprehensive nanomedicine characterization, covering critical development, production, and quality control parameters. This includes advanced techniques like AF4 and Cryo-EM for stability and heterogeneity analysis, alongside GMP-compliant methods for measuring particle size, zeta potential, lipid identity, and mRNA integrity. We also offer biological evaluation services for nanomedicine.
