CEVAC
Pioneering Vaccine Research and Clinical Trials
Mission
The Center for Vaccinology (CEVAC) is a dedicated trial centre, specialized in vaccine research and conducting vaccine trials. It has a Clinical Trial Unit and an Immunology Lab. Since 1995, they have conducted clinical trials ranging from Phase I to Phase IV, helping bring vaccines for infectious diseases such as hepatitis, influenza, RSV, and HPV to the market.
The experienced team adheres to international Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of new vaccines.
About CEVAC
The clinical trial unit (CTU) runs approximately 15 vaccine trials each year, including studies sponsored by pharmaceutical companies. The CTU offers complete support from screening to safety assessments and monitoring, leveraging the close proximity to Ghent University Hospital’s medical resources.
CEVAC’s Immunomonitoring Laboratory is renowned for its ability to research and measure vaccine-induced immunity. It serves as a central lab for multi-site vaccine trials and excels in designing, developing, and validating assays for humoral and cellular immune responses. All lab activities comply with Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) guidelines.
